What Siding Does

More Than Curb Appeal

Siding is the part of a house people notice and the part they think of last. It is also the primary barrier between weather and the structure of your home, and when it fails the consequences are not cosmetic. Water getting behind siding reaches sheathing, insulation and framing, and by the time it shows inside it has usually been happening for a while.

The failures worth watching for are cracked, split or missing panels, sections that have warped or buckled, gaps opening at joints and around windows and doors, and any area that looks like it is holding moisture. Hail and wind-driven debris damage siding the same way they damage roofs, and it is frequently overlooked when a storm claim is being assessed.

That last point matters. If a storm damaged your roof, it very likely damaged your siding too, particularly on the elevation facing the weather. Siding damage is one of the most commonly missed elements of a storm claim simply because nobody looked for it.

We handle siding repair and full replacement alongside our roofing work. Book a free inspection and we will assess both.

Doing It Properly

Installed to Keep Water Out

Siding installation lives or dies on the details, in exactly the same way roofing does. House wrap correctly lapped so water sheds outward, proper flashing above windows and doors and at every transition, correct spacing to allow for expansion, and joints placed and sealed where they will not collect water.

Get any of that wrong and the siding still looks fine from the street while water runs behind it. The problem surfaces years later as rot in the sheathing, and by then the fix is structural rather than cosmetic.

We work with the same discipline we apply to roofs: a written scope before we start, a fixed price that does not move, and a walkthrough before we call it finished.

If the work is going through insurance we document the siding damage as thoroughly as the roof damage, because it is part of the same claim and should be paid as such.

Winning Hand Roofing & Restoration About Image2
Built on Repeat Customers

Most of our work comes from people who have used us before or were sent by someone who did. That only happens if you do the job right the first time.

When a storm hits, we don’t wait for business hours. Call any time, day or night, and we’ll get someone out to tarp, assess, and stop further damage before it gets worse.
We work directly with your adjuster and document everything with photos and a detailed report. Most homeowners never have to chase down paperwork or fight for what they’re owed.
We carry full licensing and insurance everywhere we work, and our crews are certified to install the systems we recommend. That means proper installation and warranties that actually hold up.

Every roof we install is backed by a workmanship warranty from us and a manufacturer warranty on materials. If something goes wrong that shouldn’t, we come back and make it right.

Common Questions About Siding

How do I know if my siding needs replacing?
Cracked, split, warped or missing panels, gaps opening at joints or around windows, and any sign of moisture behind the surface. Isolated damage can often be repaired. Widespread failure usually means replacement.
Yes, and it is frequently missed. Hail and wind-driven debris damage siding just as they damage roofs, particularly on the elevation facing the storm. We document both as part of the same claim.
Often yes, where the damage is localised. Matching existing siding can be a limitation on older homes because colours and profiles change over time, and we will tell you up front if that applies.
It depends on the size of the property and how much preparation is needed once the old siding is off. We give you a realistic timeframe in the written quote.
It can, particularly where insulation behind the siding is upgraded during replacement. The bigger factor is usually keeping moisture out of the wall, because wet insulation stops working.
Where it is damaged or inadequate, yes, and we will tell you before we start if that is likely. House wrap is what actually keeps water out of the wall, so it is not somewhere to cut corners.
Yes, and it is often the sensible approach after a storm, since both are usually damaged by the same event and covered by the same claim.
Yes, at no cost and no obligation, with a written assessment.
